A company in the Hospitality Industry is looking to hire a Head of Maintenance to manage all construction projects and to plan the strategy and delivery of all maintenance for all entities within the group.
Overall Job Purpose:
The role holder is responsible for planning construction projects and overseeing their progress in a timely and cost-effective manner, as well as overseeing all installation, repair and upkeep operations of the company’s facilities. The role reports to the Director of Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
● Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
● Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
● Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
● Meet contractual conditions of performance.
● Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
● Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.
● Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
● Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.
● Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.
● Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality.
Key Requirements & Competencies:
BSc. degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or any other related field.
Proven working experience in construction management, as a maintenance manager or any other managerial role.
Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, planning maintenance operations, means and methods.
Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.
Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
Familiarity with construction management software packages.
Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
