- Thorough understanding of general ledger (GL), account payables (AP), account receivables (AR), and Treasury functions.
- Proven financial and management report preparation ability.
- In-depth knowledge and demonstrable understanding of accounting principles and standards.
- Adequate knowledge and understanding of tax laws and other regulatory requirements.
- Excellent supervisory and analytical skills.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA or ICAG)
- A Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or auditing is an added advantage.
- Minimum of six (6) years of accounting, finance, or audit experience with at least three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Key Tasks
- Develop and implement control policies on fixed assets and inventory management, financial accounting, monthly period close processes, and reporting procedures.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the fixed assets and inventory register and appropriately recognize them in the Oracle ERP for accounting purposes.
- Reconciling accounts with the general ledger, reviewing the public ledger and sub-ledger entries in the Oracle ERP, and performing account analysis to ensure that entries and balances are accurate, complete, and faithfully represent financial activities undertaken by the company.
- Entering and processing financial data such as monthly accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, revaluations, and interdepartmental entries into the ledger.
- Coordinate all units' month-end financial close activities, recommend and pass journals for adjusting transactions, and post to the general ledger after approval.
- Preparing and filling out tax assessments and returns, including CIT, PAYE, and withholding taxes. And handling all other regulatory and statutory returns and requirements in cellulation with functional units to ensure filing and payment deadlines are met.
- Review payroll information provided by the HR department, prepare monthly payroll, including the generation of payroll journals for posting in ERP and bank advice, and follow up with the Cash Office to ensure the transfer of funds to beneficiaries in line with the payroll plan and policy of the company.
- Maintain Charts of Accounts (COA) and liaise with the ERP superusers on access control for the finance team.
- Analyzing and interpreting financial information and preparing financial reports and data as may be required from time to time by direct & indirect reports and management.
- Develop and implement a logical filing system and coordinate to ensure that all finance documents are accordingly filed on the Finance Share Point.
- Keeping abreast of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting
- Other relevant work may be determined by the GL Senior Manager, Chief Accountant, and Head of Finance.
