Position Overview:
Nomad Logistics is seeking a dedicated and experienced Transport Officer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our transportation operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities of a Transport Officer:
- Transportation Management: Oversee and coordinate transportation activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Route Optimization: Develop and implement efficient transportation routes to minimize delays and reduce costs.
- Compliance: Ensure all transportation activities adhere to relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Fleet Management: Manage the maintenance and operation of the vehicle fleet, including scheduling repairs and ensuring vehicle readiness.
- Vendor Coordination: Maintain relationships with external transportation vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality service.
- Reporting: Generate and present reports on transportation performance, including key metrics and areas for improvement.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve issues related to transportation operations, including delays, vehicle breakdowns, and customer concerns.
Qualifications of a Transport Officer:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least years of experience in transportation management or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
- Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach.
