Job Summary:
The Account Manager is the link between the client and the entire agency team and plays a crucial role in fostering strong client relationships and ensuring the successful execution of client projects. They serve as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their objectives, and collaborating with internal teams to develop and implement strategic solutions to client needs.
Along with their team the account manager acts as both the client service person for the agency and as the client's representative within the agency.
General Responsibilities
- Creating a portfolio of client accounts and monitoring the ongoing activities related to them.
- Managing, reviewing progress, and delivering the client’s advertisement projects.
- Conducting meetings with the clients as well as informing them about the current work status of their projects.
- Establishing relationships with new clients and maintaining and nurturing business relationships with existing clients.
- Identifying accounts whose revenue may be shrinking to address any ‘at risk’ customers and reach out to these accounts to ensure they are retained.
- Monitoring work performance of colleagues and setting sales targets.
- Recruiting and training new account executives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as their trusted advisor, consultant, and primary point of contact.
- Understand clients' business objectives, industry trends, and competitive landscape to provide strategic guidance and recommendations.
- Conduct regular meetings and check-ins with clients to review campaign performance, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for growth.
- Take client project/campaign/communication briefs, answer questions, and always communicate with the client, and develop creative briefs.
2. Project Management:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including creative, media, and production to develop integrated advertising campaigns that align with clients' goals and objectives.
- Coordinate project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and successful campaign delivery.
- Monitor campaign progress and performance, proactively addressing any issues or concerns to ensure client satisfaction
- Work closely with clients to develop advertising strategies that align with their marketing objectives and target audience.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities for campaign optimization and growth.
- Provide insights and recommendations to clients on emerging trends and best practices in advertising and marketing.
- Develop strategy for clients.
- Manage client budgets and financials, ensuring projects or campaigns are delivered within budget and on target.
- Prepare and present client proposals, contracts, and budget estimates, negotiating terms as needed to secure new business opportunities.
- Monitor and analyse campaign performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights to clients on key performance indicators (KPIs) and ROI.
- Identify areas for optimization and improvement based on data-driven insights, making recommendations to enhance campaign effectiveness.
- Present and sell creative work and identify ways to grow client accounts.
- Ride on the good outputs to actively secure referrals.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
- 5 years’ experience in as a marketing manager, brand manager, account manager or marketing and communications professional.
- Experience in an agency environment preferred.
- Experienced in compiling, documenting and communicating client requirements to internal stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Adobe Creative Suite.

- Digital marketing savvy.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment handling competing deadlines; agency and client-facing experience is a plus.
- You will be required to travel outside Accra where necessary on your client’s activities.
