Administrative Assistant
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide support to develop and implement public health laboratory programs aligned with national and international guidelines and NPHRL priorities
- Support the writing of compelling grant proposals and managing grants effectively
- Assist in maintaining strong partnerships with stakeholders within the health sector, government agencies, research institutions, and communities
- Assist in office management including handling correspondence, filing, scheduling and maintaining records and databases
- Assist in preparing and organizing meetings, workshops, trainings and events related to projects and programs
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and guidelines
- Provide logistical and administrative support for field activities, such as sample collection, testing, reporting, monitoring, supervision and quality assurance
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Qualification Required & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Administration, Management, Public Health or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience in administrative or support role in a health-related
- Experience in grant writing and management will be an advantage
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and at least one local language
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software and tools
- Knowledge of the public health system and laboratory services in Ghana is an asset
- Proven ability to monitor and evaluate programs using quantitative and qualitative methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Experience working in Ghana or a similar developing country context is a strong asset
Competencies
- Successful develop, implement and manage at least 2 public health laboratory programs within the first year
- Conduct regular programs monitoring and evaluation, submitting accurate and timely reports
- Provide training and technical assistance to improve public health laboratory capacity
- Advocate for the importance of public health laboratories and effectively communicate program successes
