Job Summary:
The Junior Accountant (Account Payables) is responsible for managing the accounts payables function within the logistics, clearing &forwarding, and depot management firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payables Management:
- Monitor and manage the accounts payable ledger to ensure timely recording of invoices with a skeptical analysis and payment.
- Ensure proforma invoices are attached to purchase requisition, and are approved before recording in NetSuite.
- Prepare monthly withhold schedules and file for payment.
Financial Reporting and Reconciliation:
- Reconcile accounts payables balances with the general ledger.
- Prepare weekly report/statement on the status of accounts payable, including aging reports.
- Assist in month-end closing activities by ensuring all payables are accurately recorded.
Vendor Relationship Management:
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors to ensure operational workflow and address any issues or disputes.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to resolve client queries and discrepancies.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payables transactions.
- Ensure all documentation is complete and complies with regulatory requirements.
- Keep proper filing system.
Compliance and Audits:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulations.
- Support external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in accounts payables.
- Experience with Accounting Software. Knowledge in Oracle NetSuite will be an added advantage.
- Experience in Data analytics

4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. A strong understanding of the logistics industry and its financial operations is highly advantageous.
