Marketing & Communications Manager Role
As the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will oversee all marketing and communication aspects of JA Africa including promoting the organization’s mission, values, and programs. By utilizing a mix of traditional and digital communication methods, you will build community, engage supporters, attract donors, and ultimately drive the organization’s mission forward.

Marketing & Communications Excellence at the JA Africa Regional Operating Center (ROC) and Member Nations (MNs)
Reports to: Vice President Marketing & Partnerships
Location: Virtual
Specific Functions:
Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communication strategies aligned with the Company’s mission and goals.
- Assess market trends, audience needs, and communication opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
Brand Management
- Create and maintain a consistent brand image and messaging tailored to the target audience.
- Ensure that all communications reflect the organization’s values and identity.
Content Creation
- Produce high-quality content for various platforms, including newsletters, press releases, social media, websites, and promotional materials.
- Craft compelling narratives highlighting the Company’s impact, programs, and success stories.
Social Media Management
- Develop and manage social media strategies to increase engagement and reach.
- Monitor social media channels to ensure effectiveness.
Public Relations
- Develop and implement a public relations strategy including media campaigns to promote business goals.
- Maintain relationships with media representatives and other stakeholders.
Donor Communication
- Create articles that highlight funding needs and impact stories to delight donors.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Track and analyze the effectiveness of marketing and communication initiatives.
- Provide reports on engagement metrics, reach, and overall impact to inform future strategies.
Digital Marketing
- Oversee the NGO’s website, including SEO strategies, user experience, and content updates
- Utilize email marketing campaigns to inform and engage supporters and beneficiaries.
Grant Writing Support
- Collaborate with program and development staff to support grant writing and reporting through effective communication.
- Ensure that narrative reports and proposals reflect the organization’s mission and impact accurately.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, social/digital communications, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years experience in similar role particularly in non-profit or international organizations
- Knowledge of French is an added advantage
