About Korey Sustainability 

Korey Sustainability is an Africa SME-focused ESG and Climate Action startup. We empower traditional MSMEs to transform their business models into sustainable enterprises. Through customized strategies, educational initiatives, and partnerships, we aim to reduce environmental impact and promote responsible consumption. We believe in the power of MSMEs to drive climate action across Africa, aligning our mission with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 13 (climate action) and SDG 17 (partnership for the goals).

Role

Research Associate (Part-time, flexible 30 hours a week).

Location

Remote, with limited on-site participation for specific events.

Compensation 

Monthly allowance of GH¢ 2,000(may be reviewed based on experience) is provided, along with accountable imprest for data and calls capped at GH¢ 1,000, and reimbursement for work-related transportation expenses. 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Support the development and execution of a study on ESG and sustainability in Ghana’s MSME sector.
2. Conduct literature reviews, gather and analyze data on ESG trends, sustainability frameworks, and relevant business practices within the region.
3. Assist in preparing surveys, interviews, and case studies for primary research.
4. Work closely with the team to compile findings, generate insights, and contribute to the final report.
5. Contribute to the creation of data visualizations, reports, and presentations.
6. Help identify key ESG challenges and opportunities for MSMEs in Ghana and provide recommendations.

Key Requirements: 

1. Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing) in Environmental Science, Business, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
2. Strong interest in sustainability, ESG issues, and climate action, particularly in an African context.
3. Experience or coursework in research methods, data analysis, and report writing.
4. Knowledge of the Ghanaian business landscape is a plus.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
7. Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently in a remote working environment.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with data analysis software is an advantage.
